Cross-office teams are a win-win
Working in teams across our office borders is a given
for us. It allows us to provide our clients with the best-suited person for the
project. It also makes the Redpill Linpro family grow closer and creates
opportunities for valuable skill sharing.
– I really can't see any downsides. This is my favourite
way of working, says developer Emma Lundström.
The Redpill Linpro family includes more than 300 employees and is spread among our offices in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Some projects are populated by people from the local office, but in our strive to deliver the best-equipped and most efficient team, we benefit from our cross-office projects.
– I think it's great. I mean, why not use the best skills, no matter what office you belong to? says Calvin Chiang, a developer at the Oslo office.
Working across the borders of our offices aligns perfectly with our strive to ensure strong cohesion and high-quality delivery. It also has several perks – for everyone.
– One advantage is that we get access to skills that we otherwise couldn't. As the Region Manager of the office in Karlstad, I could not even take on some client requests if I didn't use consultants from our other offices. So, for me, it is a great advantage says Johan Lundin, CEO at Redpill Linpro Karlstad.
Working cross-office is also a way for us as a company to share skills and get to know each other better.
– We are very good at Identity and Access Management at the Karlstad office. So, anyone who needs that expertise can easily use one of my consultants in their team. That way, we can spread our knowledge, which is excellent for our clients and ourselves. And, of course, we enjoy working together with the other offices. It is nice to create bonds and build a non-regional culture at work, Johan Lundin says.
One of our cross-office teams includes Emma Lundström from Stockholm, Ivan Kotkamaa Toma from Karlstad, and Calvin Chiang from Oslo. The three of them work in the same team, allowing them to bring diverse perspectives and expertise to their projects.
– We work very well as a team, and we have fun together. We are so used to working in a hybrid environment that being a team from separate offices is not that different from what we are used to. We could work at the office, from home, from the client's office, or even from a vacation in Spain. It is really easy to be flexible at Redpill Linpro, Emma Lundström says.
– I think it is great that the clients don't have to find someone locally, and they don't have to spend money on traveling or hotels. It is much more cost-efficient this way. And it is better for the environment when we don't have to travel every day, says Ivan Kotkamaa Toma.
Redpill Linpro makes sure to have nice office spaces for all employees to come and work in-house whenever they want, which is another way to have their colleagues' expertise close at hand, or just for socialization. Most people come in every now and then, but when we have our gatherings and events, the offices are particularly popular.
- When I joined Redpill Linpro exactly one year ago, I was like, "Wow, it's full of really smart people." I want to be in a place that delivers high-quality work and has really nice people, Calvin says.
