Knowledge sharing brings a team together
Redpill Linpro always create teams with the right expertise for the assignment, which is why we sometimes pick coworkers from different offices and cities to work together. One of our crossoffice teams contains consultants with differens experiences: MuleSoft and Salesforce, and the teamwork runs just like a refined engine.
– I never had a sense of them and us when we work together; it’s been us all along, no matter what Redpill Linpro office you belong to. We are both Redpill Linproers and want to make the delivery as a team, not as separate groups, Aphiah Holm explains.
Aphiah is a Salesforce developer working at the CX team, which constitutes the majority of the project team, carried out for Volkswagen Group. Linus Gyllstad from the API & integration team is the specialist handpicked to complement the crossoffice team for this project.
– We work as the implementation partner to Volkswagen Group Sweden, and it’s great! I’m a bit in between architect and developer, and at Volkswagen Group, I get to do everything I can. I create the architecture, and then I’m also the developer, Linus says.
What’s fun about doing both parts?
– Architecture is more about thinking ahead and drawing things up. I like that kind of problem-solving. Then, I also got to do the actual development of the system, which is very rewarding. So, I think it’s a good split.
Developing in Salesforce and MuleSoft is a task carried out in completely separate system. But the team works closely together with solution architechure.
The cross office team with Linus and Aphiah is diverse – just like the rest of Redpill Linpro. This diversity makes for a more interesting workplace and adds to the work culture. One of the biggest pros is the possibility to learn from each other.
In what way is it noticeable that you have different experiences?
– We have different areas of expertise. Some work on configuring the system and creating reports. Some analyze and work with business and project management. Then we have those who develop, like me. I got into Salesforce around three years ago. Before that, I didn’t develop at all. And then you have another one of my colleagues who has been developing for 20 years. So there is, of course, a difference between us and our technical profiles, Aphiah says.
What are the advantages of being a diverse group?
– You can help and support each other, but also focus on different parts of the project. We complement each other, Aphiah says.
And what about knowledge sharing - do you learn from each other?
– We do! Once a month, we have a session where we go through something fun that someone has learned. It is simply for the fun of sharing knowledge within the group. I think most knowledge sharing happens daily when we talk and discuss. With this project, I’ve learned how to get into Mulesoft, and Linus has learned more about Salesforce. Much knowledge sharing happens in everyday life, not in controlled “come and I’ll teach you this”-situations, Aphiah says.
– If you are interested in tech, Redpill Linpro is a great workplace. We're pretty geeky, and I really like it. There is always someone you can talk to about very specific details in programming. Many colleagues have interesting thoughts and valid input on what you do. And if you need help or have any questions, reach out in our chat - and you will always get help, Linus says.
